On the south and south-east shore of Lake Attersee, the foothills of the Schafberg and the western end of the Höllengebirge offer you an extremely spectacular mountain landscape that offers numerous hiking and mountain tours, via ferratas, mountain bike tours and climbing opportunities. The region is also generally known as the gateway to the Salzkammergut. You can reach the regions of Ebensee, Bad Ischl, Hallstatt and Wolfgangsee directly by car or bicycle through the beautiful Weißenbach valley. In general, the region offers a wide range of cultural events all year round, above all, of course, the Salzburg Summer Festival.
